Jr Jetsetter goes to Iceland

My trip to Iceland was very exciting! I had a chance to see my very first waterfall and swim in the blue lagoon. My auntie rented a car so that we could do a lot of sightseeing. It was very fun but also very cold. We had to buy extra sweaters and warm up in the car after taking pictures.

My aunt and I went on the “Golden Circle Tour”. We traveled by tour bus from Reykjavik to Þingvellir National Park where we walked between the tectonic plates where North America and Eurasia split and drift apart. We also got to see the Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir hot springs.

My favourite part of the entire trip was my visit to the Blue Lagoon. The lagoon is very shallow and warm. So although it’s cold outside, it was nice and warm in the water. You can stay in the water for hours. I had so much fun there, you can swim and walk to different areas and some parts are warmer than others. I was order lunch at a swim up restaurant and relax in a cave. It was a very unique experience.

When we visited it was at a time where there is not a lot of night time. It didn’t get dark until almost 11pm! I had to take naps throughout the day because it was so weird that it stayed light outside soon long. However, it was great because it gave us more time to explore!
